When a Death Occurs

When a death occurs, whether it be at home, a Residential or Nursing Home or hospital please call us on 01691 653116 (available 24 hours) as soon as you feel able. Initial procedures will vary dependent on the place of death.

Our office team or duty supervisor will be able to guide you through all the immediate procedures. This may include, when you feel ready, removing the deceased from the place of death, after the verification of death formalities have been carried out.

If your first call to us is outside office hours, your call will be received by our out of hours reception service, thus avoiding answerphone or poor mobile diversions. The receptionist will take some initial information from you and will then get our duty manager to call you back straight away.

When someone dies unexpectedly

If the death is sudden and unexpected, this may be reported to the Coroner for investigation. We have been one of HM coroner for Shropshire’s approved Funeral Directors and are fully conversant with all aspects of the Coroners procedure. We are able to liaise with the Coroners Officers on your behalf and guide you through procedure.

To assist you with registration details and considerations for the funeral arrangements, we are able to give you complete support and guidance. Should you require it, we are also able to provide you with a detailed information folder.
